Our Impact in Urban Waste Management
Jaraa has made a significant impact in managing biodegradable kitchen waste, particularly in urban areas such as Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur. We convert this waste into organic fertilizer, which is then distributed to farmers to enhance soil fertility. In addition, we provide training and technical support to households, organizations, and schools on how to compost from kitchen waste at the source.
To further encourage participation, Jaraa offers to purchase vermicompost and compost tea from community members who do not use the fertilizer in their own gardens. These products are then sold through our established networks, creating a sustainable circular economy around organic waste management.

Jaraa Social Venture provided a specialized training session for the staff of Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI). This program aimed to share practical knowledge on sustainable practices and converting biodegradable waste into organic compost.
